About Grant
Grant was born in Overland Park, Kansas in December of 1996. He grew up in Harrisonburg, Virginia in a godly, Christian home with parents who feared God and brought him up in the faith and admonition of the Lord. While he was a part of the ecosystem of a healthy local church that believed the Bible and preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ faithfully, Grant didn’t surrender to Jesus in his early life.
A significant hinge-point occurred in Grant’s life at age 15 when he was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. During this time, Grant questioned the doctrines he had heard all his life including God’s sovereignty and goodness. In Grant’s eyes, God wasn’t actually good and didn’t have a good plan for his life. During this season, Grant wandered from the church and from other believers that sought to love him well. Yet, despite this, God was providentially drawing Grant to Himself.
Two years after this diagnosis, in the summer going into his senior year of high school, Grant was invited to a youth camp in the mountains of Virginia where a man faithfully shared the gospel with him. It was at this moment that God gloriously saved Grant by His grace, and called him to repent of his sin. A month after Grant’s salvation the Lord called him to vocational ministry which took him to Liberty University to study for the ministry over the course of four wonderful years. During this time, God allowed Grant to become the main communicator for a traveling evangelism ministry that the Lord used to grow Grant’s convictions in preaching, confirm his gifting, and give him a platform to preach roughly 300 sermons before he was 21 (most of which he wouldn’t want you to hear). Needless to say, the Lord has been very kind to Grant, despite Grant.
A week after graduating from college Grant married the love of his life, Maria, who has been one of the sweetest reminders of God’s grace in his life. Maria is the embodiment of kindness, compassion, humility, and joy. Besides the Holy Spirit, she has been the greatest aid to Grant’s ministry and godliness.
By God’s grace, Grant took on his first pastorate in Kannapolis, North Carolina where he served from 2018-2023 while completing both his M.A. and his MDiv at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. The Lord pivoted Grant in August of 2023 when he joined the ministry of Park Baptist Church to be specifically trained in church revitalization by the Pillar Network. Grant’s love for the local church skyrocketed in this season, and through the providence of God, a unique opportunity began to take shape five hours North in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
In August of 2024, Grant came on staff at New Covenant Community Church (NC3). This is the church that he grew up in, where he heard the gospel preached faithfully, where he had come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, where he had preached his first sermon ever, and where he was attending when he first felt aspirations to vocational ministry! To say this was a homecoming for Grant and Maria, would be an understatement.
A succession plan was formed for Grant to assume the role of his childhood Pastor, Jim, who would be retiring in August of 2025 after nearly 30 years of faithful ministry at NC3. Grant and Maria are so grateful for this opportunity the Lord has allowed them to steward. Grant is excited to shepherd these same saints who helped raise him up in the gospel as a young man, and to do so for as long as the Lord allows. To God be the glory!
